Sanjay Gandhi national park is the world acclaimed park that is located within the limit of city of Mumbai. The park is called borivali national park earlier, this place is heaven on earth for the wildlife. The park is located at the north of the Mumbai city and area of the park is 104 sq km, the park is delimited by the island on the three sides. The park is the landmark of the Mumbai city and people love this place very much. The park is the main source of clean and fresh air for the people of Mumbai because it is in the city and easy to approach.

The park is full of attractions because there are houses of ancient knavery caves that are made in the rocky mountain and belong to the 2,400 years back. It shows that the park is still present at the time of 4th century BC. The most of the pollution of the city is purified by this park. It is also called as the lungs of Mumbai. The forest of the park has 800 species of flowering plants, 284 species of birds, 5,000 species of insects, 36 types of mammals, 50 kinds of reptiles and 150 types of butterfly are found in this forest.
There are also some type of dangerous species of plants and animals found there. The atlas moth, which is discovered here, is known as the world’s largest moth. Animals and reptiles like spotted deer, bonnet macaque, black napped hare, barking deer, flying fox, crocodiles, python, Russell’s viper an lots of more animals lived here. There is toy train called as vanrani is very attractive for children. They enjoy the ride and this train takes a round around the park. Rock climbing is another adventurous activity in the sanjay Gandhi national park.
